The Department of Justice and Public Administration was aware of the gradual increase in family breakdown, of the difficulties brought about compliance with legally established visitation, has prompted the creation of a network of Family Meeting Points to be extended to all parties Trial of Valencia. This effort was realized with the signing of the Framework Convention Partnership, on 9 May 2005 between the Ministry, the High Court of Valencia, the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and the Valencian Council of Bar Associations , through which lays the groundwork for establishing the network as a meeting point of the Valencian Community.
Family Meeting Points basic aim to guarantee the fundamental right of children to maintain relationships with their parents and other family members, establishing the necessary links for good physical, affective and emotional, always giving priority to the safety and welfare of the child . Besides the basic objective just mentioned, the Family Meeting Points hope to achieve other objectives: - Monitoring and evaluating the development of visitation. - Provide parents and other family members the ability to reach agreements to resolve the conflict in which they are immersed, providing career guidance to build parenting skills necessary to improve family relationships. - Preparing and helping parents separated so that in future, to maintain the relationship with their children full autonomy. - Facilitate and enable the child's encounter with the parent owner of the rights of visits and their families. - Ensure the safety of children, victims of gender violence and other vulnerable family during visitation compliance. To fulfill the goals during the Family Meeting Point provides the following services: - Assessment of the family system in relation to compliance with the law of visits, individual or joint interviews with family members. - Individual and family psychosocial intervention in order to remove barriers and negative attitudes. - Mediation between the parents to reach agreement on how to exercise the guard and custody. -Support for professional and specialized personnel in the performance of visitation. - Mediation between the parents to reach agreement on how to exercise the guardianship and custody. - Reporting requirements. Family Meeting Points are a social resource, a suitable physical space and neutral to facilitate compliance with the agreed visitation ruling. In these Centers courts agree on the meeting between members of the family in crisis or family conflict, consisting of a temporary intervention of a psychological, educational and legal by trained professionals. Like the Office of Victim Services Crime Family Meeting Points are made by a multidisciplinary team that specializes in include lawyers, psychologists, educators, social workers, administrative staff and other professionals. Professionals committed to the principle of protecting the interests of children, developing their interventions objectively and safeguarding the equality of the parties in conflict. The ultimate goal is to develop a network of Family Meeting, a Meeting Point Family in each of the judicial districts in the Community, responding to a widely demanded service socially and necessary for the courts. At present already in operation meeting the following points: - Provincia de Alicante: Alicante, Alcoy, Benissa, Elda, Elche and San Vicente del Raspeig. - Provincia de Castellon: Castellon, Vinaroz. - Valencia Province: Alzira, Gandia, Massamagrell, Manises, Mislata, Paterna, Requena and Torrent. |
